Directions to Hawk Hill, Marin Headlands,
immediately north of the Golden Gate:

From 101 going north:
Cross over the Golden Gate Bridge, and take the second exit, Alexander Ave. Stay in the left lane and you will come quickly to a stop sign. Turn left, cross under the highway and follow the road back towards the bridge.
Just before the San Francisco on ramp, turn right onto Conzelman Rd.
From 101 going south: Take the last exit before the bridge, after the tunnel, labeled Sausalito, turn left onto the frontage road and then immediately right onto Conzelman Road.
Once on Conzelman Rd.: Start the long climb up the hill. Just past the intersection with McCullough Rd. is a gate, closed after sunset, where a GMN staff person will greet you. The concert is held near the top of Hawk Hill.

Parking
is limited; Pease carpool if possible.  You will need a dashboard parking pass to park for the evening. These will be passed out at the gate as you get checked off the will-call list if you arrive after 7:30 PM.
If you arrive earlier, then look for a staff person at the tunnel entrance to check in and get a pass for your vehicle.
Keep a careful lookout for the Cave Crew parking attendants who will be assisting with positioning cars for a smooth exit.
Note that the gate west to Rodeo Beach will be closed and you must return back down Conzelman Rd. the same way you arrived.

Concert begins at 9:00. Arrive early to get closer seats. We begin checking folks into the cave at 8:30pm. The gate may be locked after the concert begins. There is parking at the McCullough Rd. junction. It is about half of a mile walk uphill to the tunnel

Seating- No chairs are provided.
Bring a low beach chair, meditation bench,  pillow, or back jack type floor chair and a blanket to soften the concrete floor of the tunnel.  Normal height chairs will put you farthest away from the stage.
All seats are good as the acoustics of the tunnel are wonderful. You are literally inside a musical instrument.

Dress warmly in layers
-We will be perched above the Pacific Ocean on a September night, typically the balmiest, least foggy time of year, but all is possible. If you tend to get cold, bring all the more clothing.
The tunnel definitely warms up with all those warm breathing bodies, so you way want to peel back some layers once you get settled.

Rain or Shine the concert will go on.

Bring a flashlight: While the tunnel will be gently lit, there are no streetlights high atop this magnificent overlook of the Golden Gate for your walk back to the car.

What to bring: comfortable seating, a glad heart, a sense of adventure
What not to bring: Please: no smoking, incense, alcohol, pets, glass containers, musical instruments- this is a concert, not a jam session. Come back during the day to the tunnel and experiment with its amazing acoustics!
